The award(s) will be funded in an amount up to $1,500. The Linda Diane Britton Research Grant was established in 2020 to be directed towards research applied to a clinical area. Linda Diane Britton was a Life Flight nurse and a 1977 graduate of TWU. “The Pre and Post-mastectomy Experiences of Women Choosing Flat Closure after a Breast Cancer Diagnosis ” The purpose of this award is to facilitate independent or team nursing scholarly research activities The award(s) will be funded in an amount up to $1,000. She served as the founding director of the Cadet Nurse Corps and was tasked with supplying the tremendous need for nurses during World War II. She taught on the Houston campus from 1966-1968 and was the Associate Dean in Dallas until 1971.

Lucille Petry Leone was a Texas Woman’s University faculty member in both the Houston and Dallas campuses.
